Delete Your Account & Data
Your account is yours, and you can walk away whenever you want. This page explains exactly how to delete your Moodzy account and the personal data tied to it - either straight from the app, or by emailing us if you can't get into the app anymore.
Deleting your account is permanent. We don't archive it quietly or keep a copy you can reactivate later, so take a moment before you confirm. Once it's done, your profile, photos, the plans you host and your messages are gone for good.
In Moodzy, tap the You tab, then the gear icon, then Delete account. Your account is deleted straight away. No app access? Email support@moodzy.club with the phone number your account uses, and we'll check it's you and delete your data within 7 days. Business accounts can only be deleted by email for now.
01Method 1 - Delete in the app (instant)
If you can still open Moodzy, this is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.
- Open Moodzy and make sure you're signed in to the account you want to delete.
- Tap the You tab.
- Tap the gear icon to open Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Read the warning, then tap Delete to confirm.
Your account is deleted right away and you're signed out. Your profile, photos, the plans you host, your messages and everything you've uploaded go with it, and there's no way to recover them or reactivate the account. If you want to use Moodzy again later, you'd start fresh with a new account.
02Method 2 - Ask us by email
Locked out, lost your phone, or already uninstalled the app? You don't need the app to delete your data. You can ask us directly, and this page is the public request point.
Here's how:
- Email support@moodzy.club.
- Tell us the phone number you sign in with. That's how we find your account, since Moodzy signs you in with your phone number and a one-time code.
- Put something clear in the subject, like "Delete my account".
We need to confirm the request really comes from you before we delete anything - this stops someone else from wiping your account. To check, we may send a one-time code to your registered number or ask a question only the account holder would know. Once you're verified, we delete your account and personal data within 7 days.
Account deletion is irreversible, so we don't act on an unverified request. If we can't confirm you're the account holder, we won't be able to delete the account - that's a safety feature, not a delay tactic.
03Deleting a business account
If you run a business on Moodzy for Business, you can't delete the business account in the app yet. To delete it, email support@moodzy.club with the phone number the business account is registered to, and put something like "Delete my business account" in the subject. We'll confirm the request comes from you, the same way as above, and then delete it.
Your personal Moodzy account is separate from your business account. If you want that gone too, delete it in the app as described in Method 1, or say so in the same email.
04What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove the personal data connected to it, including:
- Your profile - name, username, bio, photos, gender, month and year of birth, mood, interests, and your email address if you added one.
- Your phone number and the login record tied to it.
- Your location.
- The plans you host.
- Your messages in group chats and 1:1 chats, including the images and location pins you sent.
- Your Pulse posts, comments, likes and saves, and the reviews you've left for businesses.
- Everything else you've uploaded.
- Your push notification token, so you stop receiving notifications.
- The link between you and any crash reports your app sent us. The technical record of the bug stays so we can still fix it, but your account ID is removed from it, and every crash report is deleted after 90 days regardless.
Once this is done, you no longer appear to other people on Moodzy, and the account can't be signed into again.
05What we keep, and why
We aim to delete everything, but a few records stay, either for safety or because the law requires it. We never keep them for marketing, and we never sell them - Moodzy doesn't sell your data.
- Reports you filed, or that were filed about you, are kept as safety records, with your identifiers removed.
- Product usage events are kept, but they're no longer linked to you.
- Offer impressions and clicks (which offers were shown and tapped) are kept for up to 180 days, no longer linked to you.
- Crash reports stay until their 90 days are up, without your account ID.
- Legal and compliance records we're required to keep under Indian law (for example, the IT Act and DPDP Act and related rules).
- Abuse and safety records - if an account was banned or reported, we may keep a minimal record to protect other users, including in cases involving child safety.
These records are kept only as long as the law or the safety purpose requires. They're held securely and never used to rebuild your profile or contact you. There's more detail in the retention section of our Privacy Policy.
Deleting your account removes your data from Moodzy, but it can't reach copies other people may have made outside the app - like a screenshot someone took of a chat. That's true of any app.
06Your rights and other options
Deletion is one of several rights you have over your data. You can also ask to access or correct your information without deleting your whole account. To learn more about what we collect and how we handle it, see our Privacy Policy.
Global users are afforded equivalent GDPR / CCPA-style rights. If you believe a child is using Moodzy under a false age, a parent or guardian can request deletion of that account on their behalf.
